I’m excited to let you know I have officially submitted my application to run for the AISD Board of Trustees in Place 4 . I have been very blessed over the last few years to have my family and so many friends support me in one way or another through my double lung transplant journey. I feel a need to give back to my community. I wholeheartedly believe having a strong educational system is the key to empowering the children of Alice to thrive when they graduate and move on to the next phase in their lives. Also, having a strong educational system is essential to attracting businesses and families to Alice, Tx, which would greatly benefit our economy. I humbly ask for your support. Thank you and have a great day.

I give thanks to God for all that I’ve been blessed with. My triumphs and failures have strengthened my faith. My decision to seek a position on the Alice ISD Board of Trustees comes with no hidden agendas. The ultimate goal is to continue to make strides to make Alice ISD an academically exceptional school district to retain our current families and entice others to move to Alice. I intend to use my college, work and previous school board experience to give valuable input to our existing school system.

My name is Cirilo C. (Ciro) Zamora. My parents (Cirilo T. Zamora and Ada Canales Zamora) were instrumental in providing guidance and encouragement to achieve all that God had planned for me, my sister (Merlinda Zamora Rodriguez) and my brother (David Ulises Zamora). My parents were my first and most important teachers. I am a 1978 graduate of Alice High School. I received a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University in College Station. I gained valuable experience and knowledge from my careers in the banking industry and as a financial consultant handling clients’ investments.

I have been married to Sylvia Gonzalez Zamora for 33 years. We have 2 sons; Marc Joseph and Matthew. Our daughter Syrena is married to JR Lara.

I am eager to work with the current school board members and superintendent. I fully intend to listen to concerns from all school employees, students and their parents, and the community. Gathering input from everyone and making sure each campus has the resources is critical to obtaining this goal. I humbly ask for your support.
