In 2010, a group of local concerned, animal loving citizens came together and formed N.O.A.H. – Neighbors Offering Animals Hope. We are registered as a non-profit corporation with the State of Texas. N.O.A.H. members are dedicated to helping the homeless and neglected animals of our city and county who unfortunately come to call our local shelter home. This is a kill shelter.
Although the Animal Control Facility is supported by city taxes, there are needs that N.O.A.H. is trying to fund which will help these deserving pets. The City of Alice has been very supportive of our efforts. Our goals are many – educate our community as to the importance of spaying or neutering our pets to prevent overpopulation, medical concerns for the animals at the shelter, foster care of some of these animals, food and treats, and in general, proper care of the pets in our homes.
N.O.A.H. is looking for new members. We meet every second Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1st Street entrance. We are small but our goal is focused on one adoption at a time in order to help homeless pets find their forever home. Together, we can make a difference.
