Leroy Ortiz
Alice – Leroy Ortiz, age 35, passed away December 5, 2021. He was born August 19, 1986 in Alice, Texas to Urbano Ortiz Sr. and Dalia Franco Ortiz. Leroy had a love for the outdoors. Some of his hobbies were fishing, barbecuing, and landscaping. He enjoyed listening to music, hanging out with his family and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Octavio Jr. and Margarita Ortiz; maternal grandparents, Juan and Esperanza Franco; uncles, Mike Lopez Sr., Julian Ortiz Sr., and Antonio Franco; and aunt, Emma Franco.
He is survived by his sons, Leroy Ortiz Jr., London Ortiz, Liam Ortiz and Levi Ortiz all of Orange Grove; daughter, Brooklyn Rae Ortiz of Corpus Christi; parents Urbano and Dalia Ortiz of Orange Grove; brothers, Urbano Ortiz Jr. (Sommer) and George Ortiz (Tracy) both of Orange Grove; nieces and nephews Adrian, Azayla, Erik, Zaylie, Emma, and Matthew; great niece and great nephew, Logan Urbano Ortiz and Piper Ortiz; uncles, Octavio Ortiz III (Yolanda) of Orange Grove, Eddie Ortiz (Nelda) of Orange Grove, Willie Ortiz (Anna) of Orange Grove, Joel Ortiz (Melissa) of Orange Grove, Juan Franco Jr. of Alice, Danny Franco (Mary) of Alice, and Pepe Franco of Orange Grove; aunts, Elvira Lopez of Orange Grove, Nelda Silva of Alice, Lupe Arredondo (Sal) of Alice, Cora Gomez of Corpus Christi, and Liva Ruiz (Neto) of Alice; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, from 9:30 am till 10:30 am at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. A funeral service will be held December 10, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel followed by a burial at Casa Blanca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Ortiz, Erik Ortiz, Leroy Ortiz Jr., Isaac Lopez, Rex Ortiz, Emede Gonzalez, and Joel Sinatra.
