Emma Jones DeLeon
Alice – Emma Jones DeLeon, age 81, passed away November 29, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born June 22, 1940 in Alfred, Texas to Guadalupe and Benita Jones. Emma was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and Alice Coyote fan. She enjoyed watching novelas, cooking, gambling, and taking her dogs for a walk. She was also known to love shopping, going to the beach, and fishing. She will be remembered for her love of dancing and her friendly loving character. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Benita Jones; husband, Gonzalo M. DeLeon; brother, Guadalupe Jones; sister, Maria Elena Jones; son-in-law, Matthew Gonzalez; and nephew, Jesus Jones.
She is survived by her children, Gonzalo “Junior” DeLeon (Christina) of Alice; Gilbert DeLeon (Lydia) of Alice, Edward “Eddie” DeLeon of Alice, and Annabelle Gonzalez of San Antonio; one brother, Ruben Jones (Emma) of Alice; one sister, Elma Hernandez of Alice; grandchildren, Tamara DeLeon , Elliott Gonzalez, and Aryanna Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Garcia, Manuel Garcia IV, A.J. Perez, Jesse Edwin Rios, Mario Alonzo Mendez III, and Arturo Anguiano. Honorary pallbearers will be Elliott Gonzalez, Cristian “Cheech” Garcia, ad De’Markus Lopez.
