Ladislado “Tene” Cantu
San Diego – Ladislado “Tene” Cantu, 62 years of age was called home to be with the Lord on his birthday, September 7, 2021. He was born in San Diego, Texas to his parents, Hipolito and Consuelo G. Cantu. He was a graduate of San Diego High School Class of 1978. He was employed with W.L. Flowers Machine and Welding as a machinist for over 27 years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, he also enjoyed fishing, crafting woodwork, gardening, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hipolito Cantu; maternal grandparents, Celestino and Juanita Garza; paternal grandparents, Ladislado and Antonio Cantu.
Tene is survived by his wife of 30 years, Melissa Cantu of San Diego, Texas; his son, Hipolito Cantu (Fotini Batsios) of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Isla Cantu (Mario A. Gonzalez Jr.) of Alice, Texas; his mother, Consuelo Cantu of San Diego, Texas; two sisters, Berta (Adelaido) Longoria and Vilma ( Oscar) Carrillo; three grandchildren, Makyla M. Gonzalez, Alaura-ly A. Gonzalez, Mario A. Gonzalez III; numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we will be following all CDC and Government mandates and ask each guest to do so as well. We ask everyone to follow social distancing and wear masks inside the funeral home and church.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till service on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at Cantu Cemetery in La Rosita Community, Texas.
