Alice – Ramon A. Guerra, 87 years of age, passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday December 21, 2021. He was born on February 1, 1934, in Alice, Texas to David and Luz Alvarez Guerra. Ramon worked his last employment with the City of Alice until his retirement. He previously worked for Patterson tools.
He liked playing softball, fishing with the family, taking family to Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville and to the San Antonio Zoo. Ramon enjoyed trying his luck at casinos, playing poker and Dominoes. He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed barbecuing for his friends and family. He was an amazing father to his seven children, a wonderful husband to his beloved late wife Anita B. Guerra, an awesome grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He was a simple man. He was the world to his family.
Ramon is now reunited with his beautiful wife Anita, his parents David and Luz Guerra and siblings. We love you Dad.
Survivors include four sons: Ramon Guerra Jr., Roberto (Melissa) Guerra, Reynaldo (Cindy) Guerra, and Ruben (Amelia) Guerra all of Alice, Texas; three daughters, Alicia (Concepcion Garcia) Salinas of Alice, Texas, Diana G. (Edward) Acero and Norma G. (Daniel) Medellin all of Alice, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and relatives at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Rosas Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. that same afternoon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Roberson-Collins Cemetery.
