Alice – Guadalupe H. Garcia Jr., 87 years of age, passed away on Tuesday January 11, 2022, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on May 9, 1933, in Alice, Texas to Guadalupe and Hermelinda H. Garcia. Mr. Garcia was a teacher for many years. His teaching career started with the Mathis ISD for a short time, until he returned back home to teach at Alice Nayer Elementary in the years of the early 70’s then continued throughout the years at Skinner Elementary and J.F.K. Elementary both of Corpus Christi, and Robstown I.S.D. He ended his career retiring from Roma I.S.D. of Roma, Texas. Lupe, as many knew him, was a man of faith and served our Lord as an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher during Sunday mass.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Garcia; his daughter, Deborah Ann Garcia; his parents; and siblings.
He is survived by his son, Javier G. Garcia of Alice, Texas.
Family will receive friends and relatives at 9:30 am at Rosas Funeral Home on Friday January 14, 2022 with a funeral service to be conducted at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the New Collins cemetery.
