Alice – Severina Belma Dominguez, age 89, passed away December 23, 2021, in Alice, Texas. She was born April 12, 1932, in Benavides, Texas to Ferman G. and Dora Lopez. She retired as a Circulation Librarian in 1992 after working there for 21 years. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past member of the Catholic Daughters. Belma was charismatic and always welcomed company to her home. She was known to many for her nurturing ways and her unconditional love for her family.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, and making her famous tamales. She was also known to have a love for sewing, making crafts, being around her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferman G. and Dora Lopez; husband, Julio R. Dominguez Sr.; and daughter, Dora Isabel Dominguez.
Belma is survived by her children, Julio R. Dominguez Jr. (Juanita) of Green Acres, Jose A. Dominguez of Alice, Jesus A. Dominguez (Maricelda R.) of Corpus Christi, and Velma D. Colvin (Richard) of Alice; sister, Azucena Lopez of Loma Alta; grandchildren, Amador Dominguez (Jasmine), Marissa Dominguez, Alejandro R. Dominguez, Jose Luis Dominguez, Johnathon Dominguez, Robert Anthony Martinez, Kathryn E. Colvin, and Zach Colvin; great-grandson, Amador Raphael Dominguez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family is reserving the services of attendance for family members only. The family ask that you keep them in your prayers throughout the services and their time of grief. They have kept everyone in mind and encourage everyone to view the services via live stream on the St. Joseph Catholic Church Facebook page on Friday, January 7, 2022 beginning at 2 p.m. Please like their page and a notification will appear when livestream services begin.
Pallbearers will be Amador Dominguez, Alejandro R. Dominguez, Jose Luis Dominguez, Johnathon Dominguez, Zach Colvin, and Robert Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Gonzalez, Marissa Dominguez, Kathryn Colvin, and Jasmine Dominguez.
