Alice – Elida “Lita” Escobar went to be with our Lord on January 18, 2022 at the age of 89, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her bedside. Lita was a proud catholic, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed. She was a strong woman with a voice and mind of her own, who unconditionally loved her family.
Lita worked at Haggar Clothing Co. in the Robstown Plant for many years, and then worked at Alice P&S Hospital. She was devout catholic, always eager to learn more and serve our Lord in any way she could. Lita was a dedicated member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Ben Bolt, where she was previously the CCD Director for many years. She was also a member of St. Peter Altar Society. Lita is preceded in death by her parents Jose “Pepe” Bazan Sr. and Maria Puente Bazan, her husband Ricardo Escobar, Son Ricky Escobar, Daughter Emma Escobar (whose loss left a permanent ache in my heart), Brothers: Jose Bazan Jr (Rosa Bazan), Ricardo Bazan (Bea Bazan), Robert Bazan, Roque Bazan (Connie Bazan), Antonio “Tony” Bazan (Judy Bazan), and Rene Bazan and late wife Neva Jo Bazan.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories:
Priscilla (Jimmy) Garcia ( a niece she raised as a daughter)
Deanndra Garcia, Adrianna Garcia, Sergio Garcia, and Austin Miller (whom she loved as her grandchildren)
2 Sisters: Maria “Nena” Shultz (late husband Robert Shultz) and Elia “Titi” Jurado and husband Francisco Jurado
1 Brother: Rolando Bazan and wife Naida Bazan
Lita, we love you and our hearts are broken with a loss we will only bear knowing we have our memories…..we await the day to meet again……and until then, your love and memories will carry us……our love and thoughts are always with you.
