Alice, TX – Adelaida Gonzalez, age 93, passed away February 6, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born April 11, 1928 in Hebbronville, Texas to Rufino Solis and Genoveva Marquez. She had a huge heart and a great sense of humor. She was loved by so many people and never met a stranger. She was the most loving, caring, generous person anyone could ever meet and was always putting others before herself. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, chalupa, and going to church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Urbano Gonzalez Sr.; her parents, Rufino Solis and Genoveva Marquez; her sister, Maria Godines; brother, Jose Marquez; daughter, Carmelita Gonzalez; grandson, Michael Gonzalez; and great-granddaughter, Erika Ramos.
She is survived by five sons, Ramon Gonzalez Sr. (Lydia) of Alice, Juan Gonzalez Sr. (Rosa) of Alice, Urbano Gonzalez Jr. (Rosa) of Alice, Ruben Gonzalez Sr. (Lupita) of Dallas, David Gonzalez (JoAnn) of Victoria; six daughters, Irma Moreno (the late Larry Moreno) of Alice, Ester Gonzalez (Refugio) of Alice, Norma Gonzalez (Eugenio) of Houston, Mae Gonzalez (the late Fernando, Sr.) of Alice, Sulema Miranda (Marcos, Sr.) of Houston, and Rosalinda “Rosie” Gonzalez of Houston; siblings, Rita Gonzalez (the late Refugio Gonzalez Jr.) of Alice, Guadalupe Juarez (Fernando Juarez Sr.) of Alice, and Maria Elena Marquez of Alvin; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12 pm till 1:30 pm at Rosas Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm that same day at Emmanuel Baptist Church; 701 Hickey Street; Alice, Texas. Burial to follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Servando Canales III, Oscar Gonzalez, Robert Moreno, Marcos Miranda Jr., Juan Gonzalez Jr., Ramon Gonzalez Jr., Joe Michael Gonzalez, and Fernando Gonzalez Jr.
