Juan Carlos Salinas Sr
Juan Carlos Salinas Sr passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was born in Alice, Texas on January 19, 1952 to his parents, Rafael and Vicenta Salinas. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Juan worked as an Oilfield Machinist and Operator for Hub Oilfield Supplies, Barr Iron & Metal, and Adcock Pipe & Supply. His family was everything to him and loved them unconditionally; teaching them the life values of hard-work, respect, and honesty. He loved watching WWE wrestling matches and his favorite wrestler was Ric Flair. He also enjoyed Tejano music, dancing, watching Dallas Cowboys football games, and barbequing. His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Father’s Day because he would have all his family together rejoicing and celebrating. Juan had a special love and connection with his Chihuahua, Mini Mo, whom he treated like a child.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Vicenta Salinas; sisters, Martina S. Cantu, and Delia C. Salinas; brothers, Arnoldo, Rogelio, Mario, Ricardo, Rafael, and Reymundo Salinas; and great-granddaughters, twins Aria & Michelle Gonzalez and Madeline Sky Garcia.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 45 years, Otila Sandra Salinas; daughter, Lisa Lamar (Troy Whitley) Salinas; sons, Juan Carlos (Rebecca) Salinas Jr, Ramon Rafael (Laura) Salinas, Javier Oscar Salinas, and Saul Orlando (Sofia) Salinas; sisters, Leocadia Morgan and Corina C. Salinas; brother, Servando C. Salinas; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Trevino Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Old San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
Honoring Juan as pallbearers are Juan C. Salinas Jr, Ramon R. Salinas, Saul O. Salinas, Travis W. Whitley, Javier O. Salinas Jr, and Tray W. Whitley.
