SAN DIEGO – Raul M. Olivarez, age 61, passed away April 15, 2022, in San Diego, Texas with his family around his bed side, after his 3 year battle with cancer. He was born January 20, 1961, in Alice, Texas to Alejandro Olivarez and Rosenda Martinez. Raul was a floor hand in the oil industry and had a gift for carpentry work as well. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as horseback riding, bull riding, riding motorcycles, hunting, and bonfires. He also enjoyed dancing and training horses and was known as an animal whisperer. He will be remembered for his unconditional love for his family and spending quality time with them and being a jokester. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Raul was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro Olivarez and Rosenda Martinez; one son, Omar Beltran; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Olivarez of San Diego; children, Jennifer Olivarez of San Diego, Raul Olivarez (Veronica) of Alice, Randy Canales of San Diego, Lupe Rivera (Trish) of Rochester, Minnesota, C.J. Rivera of Rochester, Minnesota, Teresa Hernandez (Robert) of San Diego, Michael Olivarez of Alice, Tasha Maldonado (Javier) of San Diego, Emmanuel Olivarez (Prissy Lopez) of Alice, Victoria Olivarez (Randy) of Rochester, Minnesota, Emilio Olivarez of Rochester, Minnesota, and Olivia Tucker of Fort Worth; six sisters; four brothers, 32 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20,
2022, at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 5 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel at 12 pm. Burial to follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Emmanuel Olivarez, Emilio Olivarez, Guadalupe Garcia, Angel Garcia, Iriberto Diaz Jr., Donavin Lozano, Robert Gonzalez, and Nathan Vasquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Raul Olivarez III, Alec Molina, Caleb Maldonado, and Brian Maldonado.
