Guadalupe C. Rosas, age 81, passed away April 28, 2022 in Agua Dulce surrounded by his family. He was born December 11, 1940 in Driscoll, Texas to Crespin and San Juanita Rosas. Guadalupe had a love of barbecuing, having his adult beverages, socializing with his family, and attending dances. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crespin and San Juanita Rosas; wife, Alicia S. Rosas; two brothers, Gonzalo Rosas and Juan Rosas; sisters, Maria Gutierrez and Refugia Salinas; grandson, Christopher Ismael Saenz; and granddaughter, Bonnie Rosas.
He is survived by his children, Rosario Saenz (Joe Ramirez) of Beeville, Guadalupe Rosas Jr. of Skidmore, Isabel Griffin Rosas of Chicago, Illinois, Joe Rosas of Alice, Roberto Rosas (Tina) of San Diego, Bertha DeLeon (Javier) of Alice, Jesse Rosas (Delma) of Agua Dulce, David Rosas of Alice, Maricela Villarreal of Agua Dulce, and Santos Rosas of Alice; siblings, Crespin Rosas of Florida, Carlos Rosas (Maria) of Robstown, Susana Rosas of Corpus Christi, Raul Rosas (Emery) of Mathis, Alfredo Rosas (Rose Mary) of San Antonio, Estela Medina (Tomas) of Agua Dulce, and Enrique Rosas (Elma) of Agua Dulce; 35 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, May 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Agua Dulce. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Rosas Jr., Damian Rosas, Dominic Huerta, Chicho Rosas, John DeLeon, Andrew Lopez, Malahki Gonzalez, and Chris Saenz.
