Luis O. Cavazos, age 55, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Alice, Texas. He was born on February 18, 1967, in Alice, Texas to Salvador and Librada Cavazos.
Luis was the senior class president of Alice High School class of 1986. He excelled in football, track and theater. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and was owner of a landscaping and power washing service. He retired from Walmart in 2009, after 25 years as a loss prevention district manager.
Luis was blessed with a loving family. He married the love of his life, Liza on July 28, 1990. His two sons were his pride and joy, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, family vacations and let’s not forget his love for gambling.
Luis’ personality shined bright; he never met a stranger. Throughout the years, Luis made friends wherever he went, most notably a lifelong brotherhood with his best friends, Rick Ruiz, Sam Bueno, Horacio Lomas, Sabas Perez, Noe Paez and Chuck Trevino, who are left to honor the memories and carry on his legacy.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Cavazos and Salvador Cavazos, Jr and sister, Yolanda Morgan.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Anna Liza Cavazos; his sons, Benjamin (Marissa) Cavazos and Jonathan (Evelyn) Cavazos; his grandchildren, Alison Jade Cavazos, Brayden Jaxson Cavazos, Luna Garcia and Santiago Cavazos; his siblings, Viola Garza, Jose F. (Anita) Cavazos, Sammy (Socorro) Cavazos and Melba (Raymond) Gonzalez; his sisters-in-law, Marisela (Eddie) Hinojosa, Marissa Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E Main St, Alice, Texas with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Roberson- Collins Memorial Cemetery.
