Linda Sue “Susie” Howard Searcy, 72 years of age entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 24, 2022in a Corpus Christi hospital after a short illness. She was born in Freer, Texas on March 16, 1950 to her parents, Percy and Patsy Howard. Susie was a lifelong resident of Freer and devoted her life to raising her sons. He enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, sewing, arts and crafts, reupholstering furniture and traveling to see her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Patsy Howard; brother, Pat Howard; sister-in-law, Una V. Howard.
Susie is survived by her husband of 32 years of marriage, George Searcy of Freer, Texas; three sons, Frank (Tara) Raab of Bandera, Texas; Allen Raab of Freer, Texas and Mark (Jennifer) Raab of Fredericksburg, Texas; three step sons, Larry (Brenda) Searcy of Scurry, Texas; and Greg and Doug Searcy of Freer, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Howard, Katherine Belcher, and Teeka († Leo) Mendiola; 16 grandchildren, Maranda Jane, Daniel, Jace, Garrett, Ashleigh, Sara, Emma Raab, LaVonda, Georgina Searcy, Haileigh Mathis, Dusty (Hayley) Searcy, Destiny (Brandon) Garrett, Michael (Sara) Searcy, Trey, Jay, Bruce Searcy; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. that morning. Interment will follow to Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas
