Lawrence Pawlik, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on September 3, 1931 in Alice, Texas to John and Frances Pawlik.
He attended William Adams where he met his wonderful wife, Carolyn True of 70 years. The love these two shared for each other was something unexplainable. When God made them cross paths all those years ago, he knew exactly what he was doing. There has never been a more perfect union then these two.
In his late teens he began raising hundreds of hogs on the family home place. He would sell them at the stockyards in San Antonio, until he earned enough money to pay cash for his first John Deere Tractor. By the age of 20 he had established his own farm and built a farming legacy that has lasted over 70 years. At the age of 85, he decided to take it easy and semi- retire. He was one of the best farmers in the region, there had never been a man who loved farming or the land he was entrusted with, more than him.
He was the type of man whose handshake or word was all that needed. He was always fair and honest, never complained about anything unless his steak was overcooked or if it didn’t rain. He always answered the door when a friend or family knocked and he always answered the phone when they called. He prayed over every meal, no matter how simple or extravagant it was, he always gave thanks.
He was the longest serving member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He always believed in helping and donating his time, money and service to the organizations he believed in. He served on many boards of directors over the years. He was a trusted friend, honest business partner, beloved father, devoted husband and the best grandfather you could ask for.
He did so much for so many. A life well lived.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Pawlik; siblings, Agnes Bunch, Helen Nash, Ben Pawlik, Johnny Pawlik and his beloved daughter, who passed when she only 14 years young, Cynthia Ann Pawlik, who will be waiting to welcome her father home.
He was survived by his wife, Carolyn Pawlik; sons, Larry (Lisa) Pawlik, David Pawlik, Jimmy Pawlik and Eddie (Lynn) Pawlik; grandchildren, Mark Pawlik, Michelle Ender, Matthew Pawlik and Tiffany Tomberlin.
