FRANCISCA V. MARQUEZ Alice – Francisca V. Marquez, 89 years of age, passed away peacefully at her home in Pflugerville, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Francisca, a native of San Diego, Texas, formerly lived in Alice until retirement took her and her husband Rafael to Uvalde, Texas. Francisca and Rafael ultimately settled in Pflugerville. Francis, as she was known to all, was a housewife. She dedicated herself to her home and family. She was a devout mother, Momo, Tia, and friend. Francis loved vacationing with her family and friends. Francis is preceded in death by her son Rafael Marquez Jr.; one great-great-grandson Isiah L. Medina; her parents; and siblings. Survivors include her beloved husband of 68 years of marriage to Rafael A. Marquez of Pflugerville; one son, Olegario Marquez (Raymond Salinas) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, Reynaldo Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; and one daughter, Lillian Marquez of Pflugerville. Other survivors include two brothers, Enrique Mauro Valdez of Freer, Texas, Adan Valdez of San Diego, Texas and two sisters Zoila Cadena of Palito Blanco, Texas and Diana Reyna of Alice; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Family received friends and relatives at 5 p.m. on Tuesday February 21, 2023, at Rosas Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Viewing and visitation will continue at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Rosas Funeral Home until the time for the funeral procession to begin. The procession will end at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery of Corpus Christi. Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Reynaldo Ramirez Jr., Christopher J. Ramirez, Dawn Hanson, Michael Reyna, Rene Reyna, Zachary Reyna and honorary pallbearer will be Rafael Marquez III. A Reception will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall after the graveside service at 3 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks to Reynaldo, Ashlee and Christopher Ramirez, Rene, Ceci, Isabella and Zachary Reyna, and Ana Olivarez for their love and support to the family.
