Esperanza Buentello, 92, entered eternal rest July 29, 2023, in Alice surrounded by her family. She was born December 11, 1930, in Alice to Fidelio and Elena Falcon. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing and spending time and entertaining her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidelio and Elena Falcon; husband, Enrique Buentello; son, Jose Manuel Buentello; siblings, Jesus Falcon, Maria Ruiz, Rodolfo Falcon, Ronaldo Falcon, Fidencio Falcon, Homero Falcon and Lorenzo Falcon; granddaughter, Roxanne Hinojosa; and son-in-law, Rey Garza. She is survived by four children, Christina “Cha” Garza of Bryan, Luis Enrique Buentello (Pat) of Bryan, Efrain “Efi” Buentello (Irma) of Alice, and Orlando Adrian Buentello (Yvette) of Alice; siblings, Gloria Munoz of Palito Blanco and Guadalupe Garcia (Oscar) of Palito Blanco; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 4, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Barrera Cemetery in Palito Blanco. Pallbearers will be Jacob Salinas, Leroy Salinas, Luis Buentello Jr., George Buentello, Gabriel Buentello, and Joey Buentello. Honorary pallbearers will be Owen Ryan Leal and Noah Brandon Salinas.
