Maria Gonzalez, age 87, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 in a Corpus Christi, Texas hospital following an extended illness. Maria was born October 25, 1936 in La Bandera, Texas to Martin Buentello and Benita Muniz Buentello. Maria loved to go to the casino’s where she loved playing the Maquinas. She could also be found at as many Bingo’s she could attend. Maria loved to cheer on the Cowboys and cook. Her family agrees that she made the best tortillas. She loved to dance and listen to Conjunto Music where Los Fantasmas Del Valle was her favorite band. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons: Alvaro Gonzalez, Hector Gonzalez, and Horacio Gonzalez Jr., her great-granddaughter: Kinsley Grace Gonzalez, 2 Brothers: Lupe Buentello and Romolo Buentello, 1 Sister: Anita Buentello Guerra, and her niece: Norma Guerra.

2 Grandsons: Hector (Paula) Gonzalez Jr. of Baytown, Texas and Albert (Criselda) Gonzalez Jr. of Ben Bolt, Texas
4 Grandchildren: Oriana Gonzalez, Hector Mario Gonzalez III, Benjamin Horacio Gonzalez, and Sebastian J. Gonzalez
Siblings: Juan Buentello, Jovita Ramirez, and Tina Vasquez

Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Garza, Javier Rocha, Simon Serna, Orlando Cadena, Alberto Gonzalez, Alberto Gonzalez Jr, Hector Gonzalez Jr, and Hector Gonzalez III.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm with a rosary to be recited at 12 pm in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1 pm at St. Peters Catholic Church in Ben Bolt, Texas. Services will conclude at the church.
