Charles Dean “ Scooter” Arnold, 67 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in a Alice hospital. He was born in Alice, Texas on December 7, 1956 to his parents, Charles Dewey and Doris Arnold.
Scooter enjoyed water skiing, listening to old country music and watching old western movies, he also enjoyed working cattle at the family ranch, hunting and having a few cold beers with family and friends.
Scooter was very generous and giving to all who needed help. Scooter was never one to meet a stranger and when he wasn’t working or hanging out at a local bar with friends you could find him at a barbecue cook off, playing horseshoes, or at the bowling alley in Alice where he was part of a bowling league.
Scooter worked at the Tomas Ranch in Freer, Texas for many years eventually moving to Alice, Texas where he worked as an Independent Gauger. As the years went on, life slowed down for Scooter. Although Scooter had several battles with cancer he found a way to put one foot in front of the other and continue on. Even at the end, he found a way to smile and laugh with family while enjoying their visits and reminiscing about old times.
Scooter will be remembered for being a stubborn headed man who always spoke his mind, being late to almost everything, and enjoying a pint of ice cream from Dairy Queen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dewey Arnold and Mother, Doris Adami Arnold Furr; stepfather, Zeb Furr.
Scooter is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Marco) Pineda of Harlingen Texas; son, Cody Dean Arnold of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters Sofia Maria and Ellie Rose Pineda; his sister Cindy Arnold Baker (Patrick); two nephews, Michael L.
