Alice – Baldemar Gonzalez Sr., “Balde, passed away February 20, 2022. He was born July 12, 1968 in Alice, Texas to Ruben T. Gonzalez and Teresa Garza Gonzalez. Balde was an Alice graduate – Class of 1986. He was a family-oriented man who always enjoyed family dinners and family gatherings. He had a strong work ethic and a heart of gold. Balde enjoyed gambling and going to Kickapoo and Horse races. He enjoyed barbecuing for his family and listening to music. He loved to cook his famous bean tacos for his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben T. Gonzalez; and brother-in-law, Juan Infante Jr.
Balde is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Yvonne I. “Bonnie” Gonzalez of Alice; three children, Dezarae Gonzalez (Rolando Castillo) of Alice, Diana Gonzalez of Alice, and Baldemar Gonzalez Jr. (Allison Garcia) of Oklahoma; mother, Teresa G. Gonzalez of Alice; siblings, Ruben Gonzalez (Becky) of Alice, Gerardo Gonzalez (Marissa) of Medina, and Lilly Garza (David) of Edinburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Juan and Zulema Infante of Alice; sisters-in-law, Blanca Chapa (Mike) of Alice and Victoria Infante of Alice; brother-in-law, Angel Infante of Alice; grandchildren, Zadie Castillo, Zailynn Castillo, Maddison Juarez, Allison Chapa, Baldemar (Trey) Gonzalez III, and Penelope L. Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his fur-babies, Tank and Sophia.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
Visitation will resume Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral mass following at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ruben Gonzalez, Jerry Gonzalez, Jesse Gonzalez, J.R. Gonzalez, Joseph Garza and Angel Infante. Honorary pallbearers will be Baldemar Gonzalez Jr, Baldemar (Trey) Gonzalez III, and Rolando Castillo
