BARTOLO BUENTELLO Alice, Texas – Bartolo Buentello, 88, peacefully gained his wings on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was born on January 24, 1935, in La Bandera, Texas to Sacarias Buentello Sr. and Salome Valadez Buentello. He was a beloved dad, grandpa, welito and great-great-grandpa who will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile, among so many beautiful memories he left as his legacy. He was a jack-of-all-trades. He started as a ranch hand at the Botard Ranch, where he worked for many years. He worked maintenance at the bowling alley and enjoyed interacting with their patrons. He moved on to building fences for Jule F. Talley, then with his brother’s company, Benny Buentello & Sons. He also worked in construction and helped build the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco High School. He retired, as a custodian, from the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco school district. In his younger days, he enjoyed going dancing with his wife, Guadalupe, and their friends, at La Villita dance hall. He always enjoyed being outdoors. He loved yard work, gardening, planting squash, and raising/taking care of his animals. His favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always looked forward to their visits. He enjoyed taking them outside to chase his chickens or collect the eggs they had laid. He was deeply loved and will forever be greatly missed. We are grateful for the amazing values he instilled in each of us and for the amazing memories he blessed us with to cherish for the rest of our lives.
