Alice – Cipriana H. Castro, 80 years of age passed away on January 24, 2022. She was a homemaker and a devout Christian woman. Cipriana was born on February 20, 1941, in Mirando City, Texas to Dionicio and Hortencia Garcia Hernandez. She enjoyed having her family gathered and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very active with the church and loved to be in Church for every service. Cipriana also enjoyed cooking and made the best tamales, and Pan De Polvo, which she shared with her friends and neighbors. She had a special love for her cats and her little birds.
She was preceded in death by her husband Luciano Castro Sr.; her parents and one sister, Amada Hernandez Gutierrez.
Survivors include three sons, Luciano (Lilly Ann) Castro Jr. of Laredo, Texas, Pablo (Laura) Castro of Alice, Texas and Genaro (Viola) Castro of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Patricia (Heriberto) Medellin of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Raul (Amelia) Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Arturo (Odilia) Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive family and friends at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Templo De Liberacion on 104 Schley St. Alice, Texas with a Prayer service at 7:00 P.M. that same evening.
Visitation will continue Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Templo De Liberacion at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin A. Castro, Pablo Aaron Castro, Eric Justin Castro, Zackery L Castro, Richard Joel Campos, Israel Gomez, and Honorary Pallbearer will be Pablo Castro Jr.
