On Wednesday, Aug. 24, the City of Alice Public Works crews along with a specialized subcontractor will begin replacement on a small section of a 20” water main that feeds much of the west side of town.
The project entails replacing a small section of 20” line along with installing a 20 by 20 pipe tee stub-out to prepare for future sectional line replacement. This work will be performed with the line still under pressure in order to keep water flowing to our residents.
Beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m., the intersection of King and 9th Street will be closed to through traffic for 10 days. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. King Street traffic will be detoured to Wright Street.
