Dorothy Lee Rogers-Fleming
Alice – Dorothy Lee Rogers-Fleming, age 100, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Alice, Texas. She was born on November 13, 1921 in Cameron, Texas to Goodhue Rogers and Oma Pugh Rogers.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, J.L. “Jelly” Fleming; parents, and her loving dog, Hori Fleming.
Dorothy’s life consisted of taking care of her husband and only son in which she did with love and devotion. She always viewed life as a daily gift from God. She enjoyed reading her bible and Sunday School Weekly lessons.
One of her many favorite topics was any and all reference to The Garden. Dorothy loved her yard and her flower beds. If her neighbors did not see her out working in her yard, they knew something was wrong. She fell in the yard at age 95. This accident was the beginning of her decline.
Dorothy worked as an Office Manager for Western Union for many years. She was also employed by Texas State Bank, Val-Cap, and was the owner operator of Royal Home Health, Inc until she retired at the age of 78.
She leaves behind her only son to cherish her memories, Preston Larry Fleming; chosen son, Don Salomon Sada IV and chosen family, Betty Louise Walker and Jim & Sandra Carlisle.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Oakhill Cemetery in Cameron, Texas.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
