EDWARDO “VALO” GARCIA Edwardo “Valo” Garcia, 70, went to his heavenly home on May 23, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Edwardo took on many names, Edward, Eddie, Valo, Mr. Garcia, Popo, but we just knew him as the greatest DAD, humble and hardworking, he will be missed. He was born on March 14, 1953, in Agua Dulce, Texas to Enrique and Elodia Rangel Garcia. Edwardo attended Agua Dulce High School where he excelled in sports. Edward made a career as a Pole Truck Driver and worked for many companies in the Alice area for over 40 years. He enjoyed time with his family, barbecuing, and he never missed a dog race or horse race. Valo was a man with a heart of gold, now our Lord has him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Y. Garcia and Elodia Rangel Garcia; infant sister, Esmeralda Garcia; two brothers, Eloy and Hector Garcia; father-in-law, Juan Cavazos; and his best friend and son-in-law, Oscar C. Lozano. Edwardo is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alma Garcia, who never left his side and cared for his health till the end; sons, Edward (Laura) Garcia and Roy (Melissa) Garcia of Agua Dulce; daughters, Priscilla G. Lozano and Christina Garcia of Alice; brother, Enrique (Nora) Garcia of San Diego; sister, Elma (Henry) Rosas of Agua Dulce; mothers-in-law, Beatrice Packard and Amelia Cavazos; grandchildren, Estevan (Mysabel) Garcia, Iris Lozano, Oscar Gavin Lozano and Alex Lozano, Robert Garcia, Joe Garcia, and the light of his life, his two year old grandbaby, Elena Nevaeh Medina and his only great-grandson, Colton Garcia. Visitation was held Sunday, May 28, 2023, beginning at 5 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral service was held Monday, May 29, 2023 at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Overcomer, 3310 E. Main, Alice, Texas. Burial was held at Roberson Collins Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Amador Garcia Jr., Estevan Garcia, Robert Garcia, Joe Garcia, Roy Garcia, Roland Garcia, Oscar G. Lozano, and Alex Lozano. The family would like to thank all the Garcia and Cavazos families for all the prayers during ths difficult time.
