Elizabeth Grace Petersen (Jones) was an incredible mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She was taken from this world on September 26th, 2023, at the age of 37.
Grace was born to Johannes Christian Petersen and Valene Lafe (Goff) Smith on December 25th, 1985. She was an amazing mother, and is survived by her 4 children, Faith and her husband Wesley Mathisen Jr., Elijah, Hope, and Noah. She is also survived by her father Johannes (Celeste), her mother Valene (David), her brother Isaiah (Amelia), her sister Sarah (Quentin, and their son Ronan), and her grandparents, Lawrence and Betty Goff. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Lena Petersen.
Grace was known by all as a hard-working, driven woman. She had an admirable love for the Lord and her church, and devoted herself to showing the love of Christ to all who knew her. She also cofounded and ran a business with her stepfather David Scott Smith, and used her resources to bless many people. Grace was also known across the state of Texas as a dedicated patriot. She held many positions throughout her life, and most recently she held the position of State Republican Executive Committeewoman as well as an Executive Position on the State Board of the Texas Federation of Republican Women. Her level of dedication to her endeavors was admired by all who had the honor of knowing her. She was a beautiful, selfless woman, and words cannot express how much she will be missed.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 5 pm to 8 pm, followed by a celebration of life service on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 2 pm. Both will be located at Church Unlimited at 7451 Bay Area Dr. Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
