Elma G. Lichtenberger, 86 years of age, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born on January 5, 1937 to her parents, Manuel and Celestina Guajardo. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to raising her children. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing bingo and loterria, was very creative with painting, arts and crafts and especially fishing. Elma will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Isidoro Cavazos Jr., and Mr. Nick Lichtenberger; son, David Cavazos; grandchildren, Adriel Cavazos, Ariel Lichtenberger; step son, Nick Lichtenberger Jr.; step daughter, Rachel Grijalba; sisters and brothers.
Elma is survived by her four sons, Isidoro “Lolo” (Gracie) Cavazos of Floresville, Texas; Manuel (Nellie) Cavazos of Spring, Texas; Rick (Anna) Lichtenberger of Alice, Texas; J.D. Lichtenberger of Freer, Texas; one daughters, Consuelo Bazan of Freer, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Interment will follow at Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
