Elsa G. Aguilar, 52, passed away, December 18, 2021, in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born on February 28, 1968, to Guadalupe Gonzalez and Gloria Morgan in San Diego, Texas.
She was housewife with a kind free spirit and an avid adventure seeker. She loved to travel and see new places, sharing these experiences with family and friends through photos. She was always there lending a helping hand to others. She spent the last 12 years with her partner Lalo traveling deep into Mexico exploring. She loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself; had faith and love for God like no other. She was always entertaining those around her with her diva-like attitude and hilarious jokes. She had a contagious smile and mysterious eyes.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jose Maria Gonzalez; one son, Angel Aguilar Sr. and her father Guadalupe Gonzalez.
Survivors include her companion of 12 years, Eduardo S. (Lalo) Zamarrripa of Seven Sisters, Texas; sons, Jorge Luis Aguilar Jr of Alice, Texas, and Anthony Lee Aguilar of San Diego; stepsons Eduardo Zamarripa Jr., Erick Zamarripa and Juan Zamarripa all of Weslaco, Texas; daughter Maribel (Ruben Gaitan) Aguilar of Alice, Texas; step-daughter. Veronica Aguilar; brothers, Hector Gonzalez and Guadalupe Gonzalez Jr.; sisters, Angie Rodriguez, Sylvia Sanchez, and Margarita Vega; six grandchildren, Aaron Smithwick, Timothy Smithwick, Diesel Lopez, Blakely Gonzalez-Aguilar, Jackson Ace Aguilar, Madalyn Aguilar and Angel Aguilar Jr.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a prayer service beginning at noon. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gonzalez Cemetery in El Chipitin Community in Duval County, TX.
