Erik “Pappa Crunch” Martinez, 27 years of age was called home on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his residence with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Alice, Texas on October 3, 1996 to his parents, Elias Martinez Jr. and Kathy Cantu. Erik attended San Diego High School and excelled in Football and baseball. Erik worked as a laborer for A.J. Logistics and Water Transfer. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team NY Giants, singing NBA Young Boy, Fishing, fighting roosters, playing X-Box games and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elias Martinez Sr. and San Juanita “Janie” Garza and maternal grandfather, Rogelio Cantu; and his aunt, Janice Martinez.
Erik is survived by his two sons, Jaeden Bleeker and Dallas Bleeker; his daughter, Kylie Bleeker; his companion and mother of his children, Amanda Bleeker of San Diego, Texas; his father, Elias (Devina) Martinez Jr. and his mother, Kathy Cantu both of San Diego, Texas; step father who raised him, Lee Roy Adams of San Diego, Texas; maternal grandmother, Rosie Benavides of Alice, Texas; his eight siblings, Savannah Martinez, Connie Martinez (Augustine Leal) , Emily (Obrian) Garcia, Kayla Martinez (Steven Morin), Eden Garza, Elias Martinez III, Elijah J. Martinez, Kayleigh Martinez all of San Diego, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. that morning. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery 2 in San Diego, Texas.
