Felipe Garcia passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 13, 2024, in Alice, Texas. He was born to Cruz and Rosa Garcia in Guadalajara, Mexico on January 27, 1951. Felipe will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Felipe’s early childhood was in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he learned to work at a very young age alongside his loving parents who taught him to work hard to be able to succeed in life. Later in life, he came to the United States ready to work and build a better life. He made Alice, Texas his new home, where he worked for the Tetra Company as a sandblaster and retired after many years of service.
Felipe was a quiet and hardworking man. He was also kind, patient, respectful, honest, generous, and a true friend who lived his faith through his actions and deeds. He loved to listen and sing along with the rancheras of Vicente Fernandez, especially while barbequing when family and friends came to visit.
Felipe is proceeded in death by his parents, Cruz and Rosa Garcia, and his daughter, Andrea Patricia Garcia Gutierrez.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Flora N. Canas; his sons, Roberto Martin Garcia Gutierrez and Juan Carlos Garcia Gutierrez; daughters, Veronica Garcia Gutierrez (Rogelio Rodriguez) and Alma Rosa Garcia Gutierrez (Francisco Ornelas); 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Felipe’s interests extended beyond his work and the ranch. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, embodying the qualities of generosity, selflessness, and thoughtfulness. His presence was a comfort to those around him and his actions always spoke louder than his words.
