Gloria Villarreal Reyes, 73 years of age, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 25, 1949 in Las Piedrietas to her parents, Joaquin and Lucia Villarreal. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who devoted her life to her family, raising her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Gloria enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, making tamales and empanadas, coloring in her coloring book and gambling. Her values, morals and teachings live on through us, her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Lucia Villarreal; three brothers, Pedro Villarreal, Raul Villarreal, Cruz Villarreal; seven sisters, Pauline Ibanez, Susana V. Ruiz, Adeline Coronel, Hazel Casarez, Francisca Salinas, Maria Graham, Lupe Rubalcava.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 45 years of marriage, Reymundo Reyes of Freer, Texas; three sons, Alberto (Patricia) Reyes of Corpus Christi, Texas; Rudy Reyes and Jose both of Freer, Texas; sister, Reyes V. Canales of Freer, Texas; nine grandchildren, Annette (Johnny) Lopez, Angelica (Adan) Reyes, Amber (Jeremy) Villarreal, Xena (Jessica) Herrera, Solita Reyes, Erika Herrera (Jake Sanchez), Anthony Herrera (Brianna Ruiz), Joaquin Reyes, and Dallas Jo Reyes; 19 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. that morning with Pastor Maria Edwards, officiating. Interment will follow at Las Piedrietas Cemetery in Piedrietas, Texas.
