Jacob Edward Hinojosa
Alice – Jacob Edward Hinojosa passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2022, at the age of 41. Jacob was born on March 27, 1980, in Nuernberg, Bavaria, Germany to Juan Hinojosa Jr. and Charmyn Lee Henschel.
Jacob was a hardworking man in the Oil and Gas industry for over 22 years, working his way up from a Rough Neck, to Motors, to Drilling Engineer and ultimately to a Company Man. He was currently employed with OXY out of Houston in the West Texas area.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching sports, especially DA BEARS, trips to Las Vegas and most of all helping and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his pride and love of his wife and children, his generosity, strength, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. Jacob knew no stranger.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan and Rosa Hinojosa and his maternal grandfather, William Henschel.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 16 years, Cynthia Barrera Hinojosa; his children, Rocco Olvera, Ella Olvera, Jayla Hinojosa, and Camilo Hinojosa; his father, Juan Hinojosa, Jr of Alice, Texas.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Armando and Gracie Barrera of Alice, Texas; and his honorary mother, Elva “Junie” Garcia of Palito Blanco, Texas and his sister, Janelle Hinojosa Black of Frisco, Texas.
Family will receive friends and relatives at 5 pm on Sunday April 3, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, April 4, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Mission in Palito Blanco. He will be laid to Rest at the Barrera family Cemetery in Palito Blanco.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Silva, Jacob Garcia, Alex Moscot, Aaron Bueno, Robert Maldonado, John Mando Tello, Jerry Hinojosa, and Nick Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Flores, John Joe Cortez, Guadalupe Rios, Pete Perez, and Ernie Vela.
