JOHN GUST TSESMELIS On July 21, 2023, our beloved John Gust Tsesmelis was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was reunited with his beloved wife Phyllis Tsesmelis and son John Gust Jr. He graduated from Alice High School and from Texas A&M University with a degree in business where he was an outstanding member of the Aggie Marching Band playing the bass horn. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force base. He worked for Aflac for over 35 years. He was a longtime member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent where he was a faithful member of the church choir. He loved to indulge in a good game of golf and was an active Aggie Alumni. He dearly loved his many friends and all his family and extended family. He was preceded in death by his son Reagan, his wife Phyllis of 38 years, son-in-law Eric, son-in-law Rodney, and his youngest son John Gust Jr. He is survived by his son John Warren Tsesmelis, daughter-in-law Rhonda Tsesmelis, stepdaughters Linda Miller, and Roseanne Doughty; as well as 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. To say this man had a heart of gold would be an understatement and can be seen in the legacy he leaves behind him in all these wonderful people. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at The Episcopal Church of the Advent in Alice, Texas. His family and loved ones welcome you to attend as they say avTio (meaning goodbye, as the Greek would say) to such a memorable man.
