Jose Arturo Vela Jr. 55, years of age passed away on April 24, 2022, in a McAllen Hospital after a sudden illness. Jose was born on November 4, 1966, in Alice, Texas to Jose Arturo Sr. and Maria Inez Gonzalez. He was an Assistant Principle at La Feria High School. Joe was a graduate of Alice High School Senior Class of 1985; he attended and obtained his Administrator Degree in Education from Texas A&I Kingsville. He was a former Kermit High School Assistant Principal in Kermit, Texas and was presently an Assistant Principal for La Feria High School in La Feria, Texas.
Joe was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother, Lydia Rangel Garza, Angelita and Audencio Vela, Paternal Grandfather Dr, Amador Garcia, Maternal Grandparents Guadalupe and Paulita Gonzalez.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Isabel G. Vela of Rio Bravo Tamaulipas Mexico; four sons, Sean (Hailey Kirkland) Vela and Joshua Vela both of Corpus Christi, Texas, Benjamin Joseph Vela and Joe Anthony Vela both of Alice, Texas and two daughters, Angela Vela of Corpus Christi, Texas, Camila Jovani De La Rosa; his father, Jose and Minnie Vela of Alice, Texas; his mother, Maria Inez (Ruben Martinez ) Vela of Alice, Texas; three brothers, Albert (April) Vela of Flour Bluff, Texas, Cal Ortega of Corpus Christi, Texas and Sam (Jessica) Ortega of Calallen Texas; his mother in law, Eunice Ramirez; father in law, Josue Zuniga both of Rio Bravo Tamaulipas, Mexico and three brothers in law, Emiliano Vivanco, Josue Ramirez and Evenezer Ramirez all of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas Mexico, and three grandchildren, Jase Vela, Seth Vela and Miles Vela all of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family will receive friends and relatives at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Rosas Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. that evening. Funeral Service will be conduced at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, also at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel. Services will conclude at the chapel after the service.
