Jose Oscar “Buggy” Gonzalez Sr., 65 years of age, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. He was born in Alice, Texas on October 28, 1956 to his parents, Gilberto and Consuelo Gonzalez. He was a 1975 graduate of San Diego High School and worked with oil field companies all of his life. Buggy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed dancing, barbequing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was known to have a fun loving spirit and he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Clarissa Gonzalez; his parents, Gilberto and Consuelo Gonzalez; brother, Gilberto Gonzalez Jr.
Buggy is survived by his children, JoAnna Perales, Marissa (Jay) Davis, Joe Oscar (Iris) Gonzalez Jr., Melissa Gonzalez (Mark Garza), Joe Oscar Gonzalez III, Ronnica Munoz (Robert Castillo), Michael Gonzalez (Daisy Trevino); his siblings, Rene Gonzalez, Diana (Elias) Bueno, Israel (Idalia) Gonzalez, Olga (Roberto) Maldonado, and Norma Salinas; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas.
Graveside Services and Interment will held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
