LEONARD WOODROW STANFORD Leonard Woodrow Stanford has passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior. He was born July 15, 1960 to Jeanette Collier Stanford and John N. Stanford, Jr. Leonard attended school in Alice, Texas until the death of his mother at which time he moved to Portland, Texas. Leonard completed his GED and classes at Del Mar College. Most of his life he worked with his father at the family business, Wildcat Well Logging. One of Leonard’s passions was cooking and after retiring from the oil field business he spent several years in the employ of Oak Creek Café, Dripping Springs, Texas, where he became part of their extended family. He could whip up an incredible meat loaf! He is predeceased by his mother, Jeanette Collier Stanford Roberson, his nephew, Justin Allen Atkins (mother Ellen Stanford Hicks). and his father, John N. Stanford, Jr. He is survived by his stepfather Charles Roberson (Maria), brother John N. Stanford, III (Jan) and sister Ellen Stanford Hicks, his children Joshua Stanford (Ashley) and their 2 children Rowan and Caleb, Aleasha Brandon (Keith) and their 2 children Hunter and Paxton, and Shariah Stanford Fowler (Geoffrey) and their children Sophia, Lyla and Olivia. Leonard faced many struggles in this life but he loved the Lord and his family. He also loved being on or around the water and spent many fun filled adventures with his cousin, Joe Collier (Susan). Leonard loved spending time with his grandchildren and hearing them call him “Poppa”. Leonard’s sense of humor and warm smile will be sorely missed by his friends and family. He was a loving and caring person who has left us way too early. A family gathering is planned at a later date.
