Manuel Garcia Jr. passed away April 7, 2022. He was 65. Manuel was born on August 29, 1956, in Alice, Texas to Manuel Garcia Sr. and Ernestina Ramirez Garcia. He volunteered coaching the little league summer games in his younger years. Manuel worked as an EMT in Falfurrias and was also an EMT and a dispatcher in Alice. He was an Alice Firefighter until he retired in 2000. Manuel had a unique name; his friends called him “Eskimo”. He liked to travel and eat at his favorite restaurants. He later worked for Andrews Budweiser where he also retired after working there for many years. Manuel also worked as a DJ where he was known as “Iceman”. He was an avid Alice Coyote fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Ernestina Garcia and daughter, Veronica “Ronnie” Garcia.
Survivors include his three children, Eric M. Garcia of San Antonio, Joey Garcia of Agua Dulce, and Jon Michael Garcia of Alice. Other survivors include his siblings, Dalia G. (Richard) Chapa of Texas City and Juanita G. (Eloy) Chapa of Alice; 4 grandchildren, Celes Garcia, Gavin Garcia, Avacyn Garcia, and Luna Garcia, 1 niece Christina C (Spencer) Roche of Louisiana, 4 nephews Ricky Chapa and David Chapa of Texas City, Eloy Chapa and Joey Chapa of Alice and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Services will conclude in the chapel.
