Maria E. Almaraz, age 72, passed away at Christus Spohn Hospital on Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Alice, Texas. She was born April 27, 1950 to Cleto Aguilar and Serafina Mendoza in Robstown, Texas.
Maria was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with friends at the nursing homes and playing Loteria with her family and friends. Her hobbies also included cooking and baking for family and friends on special occasions and holidays.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Norberto D. Almaraz and parents Cleto Aguilar and Serafina Mendoza.
She is survived by her children, Martin N. Almaraz, Manuel (Angelita) Almaraz, and Michelle (David) Garza all of Alice, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal, Melissa, Christian, Gabrielle, Ryan, & Mia; and great grandchildren, Mateo, Braelynn, and Bryanna.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, Texas 78332. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. A Christian Burial will follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Garza, Benny Guzman, Ruben Joslin, Adam Gonzalez, Epimenio Gonzalez, and Mike Valdez.
