Maria Elvira Benavides
Corpus Christi – Maria Elvira Benavides,78 years of age passed away suddenly on November 29, 2021. She was born on September 30, 1943, in the Clegg area near George West to Jesus Benavides and Beatrice Reyes Benavides. She enjoyed having family around her. She enjoyed listening to country western music and watching Spanish novellas. She will be dearly missed by her family that loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Estela B. Gonzales and Elida Benavides.
Survivors include her two sisters, Virginia B. (Fred) Contreras and Beatrice R. Benavides both of Corpus Christi Texas; nephews, Noe Gonzales Jr. of Alice, Texas, Jose Carlos Alvarez Jr. of Corpus Christi Texas, and Ricard Contreras both of Corpus Christi Texas; nieces, Estella Marie Bundrick of San Antonio, Texas, JoAnn (Garry) Villarreal, Laura Leal both of Corpus Christi, Texas and Pricilla (Charles) Spong of Austin Texas and 12 great grand nieces and nephews.
Her sisters and their families will receive visits on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 1:30P.M. with a holy rosary recited at 3:00 P.M. that same afternoon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 6,2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.
