Maria Garza Bazan
Benavides, Texas – Maria Garza Bazan, age 85, passed away April 1, 2022 in San Diego, Texas. She was born July 29, 1936 in Benavides, Texas to Agustine and Escolastica Garza. Maria was born and raised at the ranch and grew to love the ranch life. She loved taking care of people, cooking, and the company of her children. One of her many joys was attending bingos. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Agustine and Escolastica Garza; father of her children, Carlos Bazan Sr.; and two sons, Hugo Bazan and Eloy Bazan.
She is survived by her children, Carlos Bazan Jr. of Arizona, Hyzaul Bazan (Linda) of Benavides, Juan Bazan (Dubelsa) of Benavides, Celia Martinez (John) of Benavides, Delia Bazan of Benavides, Elmo Bazan (Maria) of San Diego, Aris Bazan of Corpus Christi, Blanca Munoz (Noe) of Denton, Noe Bazan (Elena) of Alice, and Aldo Bazan of Benavides; sister, Gracie Ruiz of Benavides; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Benavides. Burial to follow at Benavides Cemetery.
