Alice – Maria Rosario B. Gonzales, 62 years of age passed away on February 4, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas with her loving family at her side. She was a housewife. Maria was born on July 24, 1959, in Alice, Texas to Abelardo and Hortencia E. Bautista. She was raised and educated in Alice, the youngest of 6 siblings. She married the love of her life, Toribio Gonzales on September 28, 1985, in Alice, Texas. Together they raised three children. Rosario was known to be a strong believer in her faith and served the Lord for over 40 years. She was an active member of Central Revivals Church of Alice, Texas for 14 years. Maria was a proud breast Cancer survivor and gave all the glory to God for getting her through that trial in her life. Anyone that knew Rosario, knew that her granddaughter Jubilee was the light of her life. She worked many jobs in her life, such as pizza Hut, Hardy’s, Dairy Queen, Health Care provider, and more. On her spare time, she enjoyed going to the flea market, yard sales, she was known for her famous caldo de res and her tamales. She had a passion for clothing and jewelry and took pride wearing her Sunday’s best and jewelry to match. Rosario leaves a void and will surely be missed every day. We find solace knowing that she is pain free and rejoicing in the presence of our Lord.
She was preceded in death by her father, Abelardo Bautista; her mother Hortencia Espinoza Bautista; two brothers Isidro Bautista and Alberto Bautista.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years of marriage, Toribio Gonzales Jr. of Alice, Texas; two daughters Carissa Hortencia Gonzales and Brianna Victoria Gonzalez; one son Toribio (Juana R. Ramirez) Gonzales III of Alice, Texas; granddaughter Jubilee Delfina Gonzales of Alice, Texas; one sister Rosita (Juan) Rodriguez of Alice, Texas; two brothers Juan and Gilberto Bautista both of Alice, Texas; a niece that was raised like a daughter Melinda Gonzalez and her best friend Delfina Salazar that was more like a sister.
Family will receive friends and relatives at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 16, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home. A prayer Service will be conducted at7:00 P.M. that same evening. Funeral service will be held on Thursday February 17, 2022, at 10:00A.M. at the Central Revivals Church located 1014 S. Cameron St. Burial will follow at the Roberson Collins Cemetery.
