On April 9th, 2022, Our Lord Jesus Christ called one of his angels back to be at his side. Micaela Guadalupe Lerma Zepeda, age 80, departed this earth to be with those who preceded her in death, including her son Jose Francisco Zepeda USMC Retired, and her granddaughter Margarita Zepeda.
Micaela was born in Las Flores Ranch, and died in San Antonio, Texas.
Micaela was devoted to her kids her whole life and raised three generations of kids. She spent her entire life putting others first and herself last, as the Lord has called us all to do. She lived a selfless life of sacrifice and love for her family. Her little ones were the light that kept her going as long as she could.
Until Micaela could not remember how to anymore, she prayed every night, lengthy prayers that never forgot to mention all her loved ones and others in need. If there was anything she loved more than her kids, it was the Holy Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ. She had an altar in her room to the Lord, where you could always find a candle burning for those in need. Through the power of her faith and loyalty to The Lord, Micaela inspired her son to start a ministry in service of our Lord.
Her other loves were boxing, music, dancing, bingo, and staying informed about the world around her. She prayed for the plight of others. She believed in equality and compassion for all.
In an age when many people are fake and simply pay lip service to things, Micaela never hid her feelings, and with her, you always knew where you stood.
Let her life of self-sacrifice, honesty, love, and faith be an example for us all because if we all held dear to such things the world would be a better place for our kids.
Her love and music live in the souls she left behind and those she touched.

Her lasting legacy will be written by the lives that would not be here if it were not for her and how we can positively affect and love the world around us. Let us live well and shine our light on others more earnestly because mama is watching now. In the words of our Mother, “Adelante Vamos.” “Forward we must go.”
