Nanci Adams passed away at Angel Bright Hospice in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Her sister Joy, was by her side.
Nanci was born on April 23, 1952 in Mathis, Texas to Bernard Adams, Jr. and Vivian Turner. Nanci loved to travel and was an accomplished photographer. She loved the outdoors and working on our ranch. She loved caring for her donkeys, Romo and Parker (The Tonys). Nanci loved the Cowboys, Spurs, and Astros. She jumped on the Astros bandwagon for the 2017 World Series and never jumped off. She became an avid fan and never missed a game.
Nanci was a 1970 graduate of Ben Bolt – Palito Blanco high school. She attended Del Mar college and then business school in Corpus Christi. She worked as a key punch operator and later as a travel agent. She and her sister had a bakery in Orange Grove, Texas for several years before going to work for the city of Alice, Texas in early 2000s as a municipal court clerk and late at the maintenance and construction warehouse. She retired in 2017.
Nanci is preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Bernard “Bubba” Adams, IV.
Nanci is survived by her brother, Bernard Adams, III and sister- in- law, Connie and their daughter Kami Alaniz and grandson, Brandon Alaniz. Her sister, Joy Custer, and Joy’s children, Allen (Michelle) Custer, and his sons Michael, Joe, Holden, and Chandler Custer. Step – children Felicia, Nic, Maggie, and Jenna. Joy’s daughter, Ronda (EJ) Garcia and their children, Shelbi (Ron) Bryant and their children, Bentley and Braxton. Also, Hunter and Hayden Garcia, and many wonderful cousins and dear friends.
Visitation and viewing will be at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice, Texas on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Adams Ranch Cemetery in Alfred, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Alaniz, Ronnie Custer, Rob Adams, Lloyd Gorbet, Joe Saenz, and Richard Berry.
Honorary Pallbearer is Wade Evans.
