La Trinidad Ranch – Nora G. Amador, age 85, passed away September 23, 2021. She was born January 7, 1936, in Palito Blanco, Texas to Porfirio Garcia Jr. and Josefa Garcia. Nora began her employment as a dairy farmer at the family ranch. She later worked for Kroger’s for 18 years in the customer service courtesy booth. She then began to work for the Alice Independent School District and retired from district after working for 20 years as a cafeteria manager. She enjoyed cooking, sports, and spending time with her family. Nora had a strong work ethic, not only as an employee, but as a mother who raised three children on her own. Nora had a special bond with her grandchildren whom she raised many of them and to graduate from the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco School District. She will forever be remembered for her compassionate personality and her loving character who was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Porfirio Garcia Jr. and Josefa Garcia; brother, Humberto Garcia; and sister, Alma Gloria Gonzalez (the late Carlos Gonzalez).
She is survived her sons, Manuel (Anna) Amador of Annaville, Mario Amador of La Trinidad Ranch; one daughter, Anita (Joe Jr.) Rodriguez of La Trinidad Ranch; sister Gilma (the late Daniel) Gallegos of Corpus Christi; sister-in-law, Bessie Garcia; grandchildren, Audrey Heron (Jason), Aaron Amador (Katie), Rachel Arredondo (Robert), Mia Campos (O.J.), Megan Crout (Tommy), Xavier Amador (JoAnn) Stefani Amador, Manuel Amador Jr. (Vanessa), and Nora Aimee Amador; 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 5 pm till 9 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Ben Bolt with a Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. that evening. The family ask that you continue to pray for them during this difficult time and has reserved the funeral mass and graveside services to be private and for immediate family only.
Pallbearers will be Xavier Amador, Manuel Amador Jr., Aaron Amador, Jose Angel Campos, Adrian Salinas, Jakob Salinas, Sai Campos, Manuel Amador Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Garcia and Humberto Garcia.
