EMERICO’S OBITUARY
PEREZ
Emerico R. Perez Sr., 90 years old of age, went to be with the Lord and rejoined with his wife on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at his daughters residence with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Paras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on April 5, 1932 to his parents, Roque and Maria (Ruiz) Perez. At the age of 21 he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served his country during the Korean War, he then came back to work in El Paso, Texas at the military base. Emerico then worked in Corpus Christi for Army Corp Engineers for a while until he moved to Benavides where he worked for Pearl Drilling and Price Drilling where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement after 38 years of employment. Emerico was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, barbecuing and especially spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather who will be sadly missed by all
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years of marriage, Frances N. Perez; his parents, Roque and Maria (Ruiz) Perez.
Emerico is survived by his four sons, Emerico (Mary) Perez, Jr. of Alice, Texas; Orlando (Linda) Perez, Rolando (Melba) Perez, and Jose Roque Perez all of Benavides, Texas; a daughter, Mary Belle (Hector) Rios of Benavides, Texas; nine grandchildren, Emerico (Mandy) Perez III, Mark Anthony Perez, Lora Perez, Orlando (Marissa) Perez, Jr., Joshua Perez, Dr.’s Debbie Marie (Zachary) Rios-Cohen, Hector (Raquel) A. Rios, Trisha (Jessie) Villarreal, Dr. Rolando (Krystal) Perez, Jr.; 17 great grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we will be following all CDC and Government mandates and ask each guest to do so as well. We ask everyone to follow social distancing and wear masks inside the funeral home and church.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Military Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Benavides Cemetery in Benavides, Texas.
