Guadalupe Barrera, age 69, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 in a Corpus Christi hospital following a sudden illness. Guadalupe was born in Ben Bolt, Texas on May 31, 1953 to Emma Gomez and Horacio Barrera. Guadalupe was in the US Army where he served in Germany. He went on to be honorably discharged and then became a very proud veteran. He then married Delma Barrera on February 12, 1979 where they went on to have 3 children. Guadalupe loved all of his family. He loved to travel with his family. He also loved to BBQ with them; especially ribs and hot dogs. Guadalupe especially loved his children and grand children. His children also recall that he would always mark a cross on their forehead anytime they were going to sleep, even when they were only going to nap. Guadalupe would always call his children and would keep calling until they picked up. Every year, Guadalupe would take his grand-daughter to the local Military Ball as his guest. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. Guadalupe loved to be outside doing something with his hands constantly and taking care of his 2 donkeys: Sugar and Spice. He could fix almost anything mechanical. Guadalupe was always there when you needed him and he will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him. Guadalupe is preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Barrera.
