Maria Luisa Rodriguez Perez
Our beloved mother, Maria Luisa Rodriguez Perez (Wicha) entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2021 at the age of 80. She was born November 27, 1940 to her parents, Cesario Rodriguez and Trinidad Padilla Rodriguez in Laredo, Texas. Our mother was a strong woman with a kind and gentle heart and loved everyone unconditionally. Anyone who met her was instantly drawn to her and within minutes were calling her Mom or Wela just like we all did. She loved sweets, talk shows, crossword puzzles, flowers, and for a that reason we would spoil her with her favorite candy and desserts and made sure that she often had fresh flowers around her. We will miss her sense of humor and her kind words of encouragement when needed. Maria Luisa is preceded in death by her parents, Cesario and Trinidad Rodriguez, her sisters, Thelma R. Vasquez, Blanca R. Vasquez, Dalia R. Ramirez and her brother Alejandro Rodriguez Sr. She is survived by her children, Gerardo Perez “Jerry” Sr. (Michelle) of Alice, Texas, and daughters, Sandy Saenz (Enrique) of Alice, Texas, Cynthia P. Mendez of Alice, Texas and Geraldine Morales (Joe) of Orange Grove, Texas; her sisters, Yolanda Gonzalez (Ruben) of Hebbronville, Texas, Letty Nevarez (Felipe) of Hebbronville, Texas, Diana Naranjo of Corpus Christi, Texas and her brother, Juan Rodriguez (+Guadalupe) of Alice, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who will miss her immensely.
