Raymundo Flores Pruneda passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 29, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born in Cuida Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico to his parents, Cayetano Flores Guerrero and Francisca Pruneda Lopez de Flores. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Raymundo was a hardworking family man whose main goal was to provide for the needs of his family. He always wanted what was best for his children and would go beyond the call of duty to assist and help them. He was a jack of all trades; a brick layer, a truck driver, a construction worker, and a rancher raising chickens, goats, and sheep. There was nothing he couldn’t do or fix. Raymundo enjoyed traveling with family, spending time with grandchildren, barbequing, dancing, and listening to Banda music; especially corridos honoring family members. Thanksgiving and Christmas were his favorite holidays because all his family would come home to celebrate and share memories, enjoy each other’s company, laugh, and eat the traditional holiday meals. He would have his specialty; Cabrito along with his favorite drink, Dos XX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cayetano and Francisca Pruneda Lopez de Flores; daughters Cristina F. Rodriguez and Francisca Flores; granddaughter, Dolores C. Dimas; and sisters, Dora F. Gonzalez, Consuelo F. Martinez, and Herlinda F. Hernandez.
Left behind to cherish Raymundo’s memories are his loving wife of 49 years, Micaela Flores; children, Zeida Flores, Cayetano Flores, Daniel Dimas, Sylvia Dimas, Elias Dimas, Raymundo Flores, Jr., and Micaela Flores De Morales; siblings, Amparo C. Flores, Monica Ruiz, Marcelino F. Pruneda, and Esperanza F. Gonzalez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., Alice, TX, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 4, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, TX at 9:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Los Flores Cemetery at 659 South CR 307, Orange Grove, TX.
Honoring Raymundo as pallbearers are Ethan Morales, Raymundo Flores III, Anthony Flores, Marcos Rodriguez, Israel Morales, and Elias Dimas Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Jose C. Flores, Xavier Flores, Fidencia Dimas, Jacob Morales, and Marco Rodriguez Jr.
