Ricardo “Dicky” Chapa, 56 years of age, was called home on Monday, November 21, 2022 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Alice, Texas on August 2, 1966 to his parents, Lazaro Jr. and Minerva Chapa. Dicky as he was affectionally known was a graduate of San Diego High School Class of 1984. He worked in the oil field industry for several years and was currently employed with the City of San Diego. Dicky enjoyed spending time at the ranch with his friends., barbecuing and spending time with his family and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro Jr. and Minerva Chapa.
Dicky is survived by his two Godsons, Noah Martinez and Ethan Martinez; two brothers, Danny Chapa and Armando (Marisela) Chapa; one sister, Sally (Tito) Rodriguez; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Mitchel Fontenot, Daniel Chapa Jr., Lesley Chapa, Jose Chapa, Cristian Chapa, Isaak Chapa, and Reina Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Services will conclude that evening.
